Award-winning ice-cream from Lanarkshire.

Equi’s ice cream, made with locally-sourced milk and double cream.

In 1915, Pietro Equi and his uncle Dante left Coreglia Antelminelli in Tuscany to seek their fortune. While Dante ended up in New York, Pietro got as far as Hamilton, where he started a cafe in 1922. Generations of the Equi family have been making their famous ice cream in their Hamilton factory ever since for both their own ice cream parlours and wholesale businesses.

Always fresh.

Equi’s only use the freshest, locally sourced milk and double cream – and plenty of it! And unlike other folk, they don’t pump their ice cream full of air, cheap vegetable fat or unnecessary artificial additives. The only things their award-winning products are full of is unrivalled excellence and flavour. Over the years they have secured exciting retail contracts with iconic retailers such as Co-Op, Lidl and Asda

Everyone wants a little taste of their ice cream.

They also now have a brand-new ice cream factory and distribution centre which they will soon be moving into. It was essential for them to stay within their home roots of Lanarkshire, and so their new premises in Rutherglen will remain there.
