Award-winning meat from Scotland’s oldest family farming business.

If you value a fine wine from a single estate vineyard in France or a fine coffee from a single estate plantation in Africa now consider a single estate meat from Scotland.

Much of the current uncertainty of origin of livestock has been caused by global industrialised meat production. Our animals are born, reared, fattened, finished, slaughtered, butchered, packaged and delivered from the Single Estate unit, welfare guaranteed. Home farm produced and stress free. A sort of single malt meat.

All livestock are home bred on our farm with nothing bought in from outside thus minimising disease and guaranteeing quality animal welfare throughout the rearing and fattening process through to farm gate slaughter. We grow as much of our own animal feed as we can on the farm including, silage, barley and lupins. Thought and care is taken at every stage in the production process to ensure that our customers end up with the best quality product possible.

Carmichael Estate farmed venison.

There have always been deer in the Parks of ancient Carmichael Estate and in 1983 we introduced Red Deer onto the farm and started deer farming. Our EU approved meat processing unit has been operating since 1994 and our multi award winning Scottish Venison has become renowned across Scotland as some of the finest. Carmichael venison is always tender, tasty and versatile – our multi award winning Venison Rashers are a truly unique product which won Product Innovation of the Year at the Scotland of Food & Drink Awards 2009.

Well-hung Scotch Beef.

Scotch beef is considered some of the best in the world and Carmichael beef ranks among the best in Scotland. Continental breeds, Limousin and Simental were crossed with Hereford and Angus creating our own Carmichael Lanarkshire Limousin. Our cattle herd is Quality Meat Scotland Farm Assured and all beef is hung on the bone for a minimum of 21 days producing exceptional tasty tender beef. Carmichael Beef Ribeye Steak received a gold star at the Great Taste Awards 2011.

Stress-free Scotch lamb.

Our pure Texel tups provide fine hardy offspring which are ideally suited to our 1000ft hills and harsh Scottish winters. The on farm abattoir system that we operate benefits the lambs and produces ‘stress free’ meats of exceptional quality. Carmichael lamb is ‘sublime’ in texture and taste and our strip loin received 2 gold stars in the Great Taste Awards 2011.
