A family-run bistro and tea room on the Carmichael Estate.

Carmichael Estate is Scotland’s oldest farming family business at the source of the Carmichael name.

Situated in rural South Lanarkshire with views to the Tinto Hills and surrounding countryside, the Bistro is an ideal location for day trips from Glasgow and Edinburgh. The restaurant is popular with locals and hillwalkers who are exploring the area.

Carmichael Estate are passionate about food and their farm shop is an expression of this. Local and fresh seasonal produce provides traceability, accountability and guaranteed quality. The staff will guide you through the range of local products and assist you with recipe ideas.

At the Bistro & Tearoom all meals are prepared by owner Steve, a full member of the Craft Guild of Chefs and he can adjust most menu items to accommodate any allergies or intolerances.

Although an independent business from the Carmichael Estate, they work closely with them and are proud to serve the very best of their meats from the estate.

All the venison, beef and lamb is born and raised within the estate to the highest welfare standards. These meats are supplemented by the best of local Lanarkshire produce including award-winning Ramsay’s ham, bacon, haggis and black pudding.
