Hand-crafted beers, lovingly created in the heart of Central Scotland.

Outlandish is a Scottish microbrewery, dedicated to creating fresh and tasty traditional and contemporary beers.

It is an Outlandish tale – but it’s true. In summer of 2018 two brothers from Lanarkshire found themselves hatching a plan to open a microbrewery. Drawn together due to changes in their lives, Ronnie and Kenny Lees had both been entertaining thoughts of running a brewery one day, but unbeknown to each other! At the end of one tumultuous night (where they watched the sun go down and then come back up again) the plans were hatched, and Outlandish Brewing Company was born.

A growing business.

Fast forward two years and, after moving house to secure the right premises and significant sweat and toil to create the brewery from a previous cow shed, the brothers had joined forces with Sam Turner an experienced brewer and were immersed in making pilot brews to create the perfect range of craft beers. That done, they opened for business in November 2020 during a global pandemic!! And they believe they did the right thing. They’ve developed and perfected a range of craft beers to suit every taste and they’re proud of what they’ve created.

Tasting every batch for quality.

Their process is entirely self-contained at their premises in rural North Lanarkshire. Part of the attraction of making craft ales in the first place was that so many different styles of beer and flavour profiles can be created using essentially just 4 ingredients, water, malted grain, hops and yeast. Their process follows that tradition, and they also bottle and package on site. The by-product of the process we call ‘mash’ is fed to local livestock, and so the whole process from grain to glass is kind to the environment and sustainable. And with Archie the unicorn overseeing everything and tasting every batch, quality is assured (wink, wink).

The core range contains four beers at the moment, made up from two IPAs, a session ale and an amber ale. They’ve named the beers Belter, Sonsie, Swally and Beamer, with a knowing wink to our rich dialect. All of their beers are bottle conditioned and are vegan-friendly.
