Christie the Baker is an award-winning traditional high street baker with shops in Airdrie, Coatbridge and Whitburn.

Best known for our Scotch pies, plain bread, morning rolls and cream rings.

They produce a variety of celebration cakes and afternoon tea and picnic boxes which can be purchased online. Employing over 50 local staff, some of whom have been with the business for over 40 years, with a combined 180 years of Master Baker experience they provide "Quality baking through the generations".

Andrew took over the bakery in 2012, from the Christie family.

Andrew is the current owner of Christie the Baker and has been in the industry for over 37 years, starting as an apprentice at 16 with his father and grandfather also bakers. Andrew took over the bakery in 2012, from the Christie family (JB Christie) continuing its incredible history.

Andrew is extremely passionate about baking with huge knowledge of fermentation, tradition and the baking industry as a whole. He ensures only the finest and best ingredients such as the meat, flour, fresh fruit, and milk are all bought from local Scottish suppliers to not only meet his standards but to guarantee yours.  Andrew’s wife and children are also involved in the business.

At the heart of its local community.

Christie the Baker is at the heart of its local community; from sponsoring local amateur dramatic societies, bowling clubs, Albion Rovers and Airdrie FC Football teams to making donations to local charities and school fundraisers.

 The shops are open Monday to Friday from 8:30am until 4.30pm and on a Saturday from 8:30am until 4pm.
